The Bike Safety Jamboree was quite successful, especially for a first year event. The weather was quite pleasant and warmed up nicely as the day progressed
Ed West and Jack Zabrowksi helped fit helmets and about 40-50 bike helmets were given away to children and adults.
The La Crosse Police Dept gave basic safety presentations and Richard Lenard provided bike tips to commuters.
Smith's Bicycle Shop was there with safety checks and helped a number of folks with their bikes.
The La Crosse Fire Dept were there with the 'smokehouse' and helped teach some basic fire prevention.
MTU helped certify a number of people to use the bike racks on the buses.
The Washburn Neighborhood folks had refreshments, including some killer brownies.
Tri-State Ambulance showed their EMS bikes too. Jackie Eastwood helped with registratiopn and overall we had a fun and informative time.
